A powerhouse of creativity and leadership, Gracieuse Amah, known affectionately as "KWABO" (Welcome) Grace, is a force in the arts, community, and compliance sectors. With French, Beninese, and Togolese heritage, she channels her deep-rooted passion for cultural expression into her work as a choreographer, arts manager, and advocate for social change.
A revered choreographer in Melbourne, serving as the permanent choreographer for the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra and performing alongside international and local icons like Ebo Taylor, Femi Kuti, Fally Ipupa, Ausecuma Beats, Ajak Kwai, Alariiya, and Niasha, her artistry extends beyond the stage.
Grace is a community leader, educator, and advocate committed to using the arts as a vehicle for social inclusion, gender and racial equity, and youth and women’s empowerment. She is the founder of KWABO Events and KWABO Festival, a social enterprise amplifying BIPOC culture and voices through immersive experiences. Since 2006, she has been driving positive change, producing international conferences in France for the Ministry of Education, as well as annual arts festivals and community events that have drawn 300+ attendees to iconic venues like Arts Centre Melbourne, Queen Victoria Market, and Dancehouse.
Grace’s impact is woven into the fabric of Melbourne’s cultural scene. She has choreographed and performed for major events, including the African Music and Cultural Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, and most recently, Afrocentric for the NGV Triennial Extra 2024, as well as the African segment of Honour 2025 at Federation Square.
